How this estimate works

RF2 keeps two data copies and tolerates one failure. RF3 keeps three copies and requires at least five nodes. This tool holds back the equivalent of one node for RF2 or two nodes for RF3, then applies the selected replication factor and growth allowance.
It does not estimate compression, deduplication, erasure coding, CVM overhead, metadata, performance, or licensing. Validate a final design with Nutanix Sizer and compatible hardware.
